MA’AM (Anna Makay, Budapest, Hungary) is a vocalist, composer and electronic musician whose pieces are focusing on ancient languages in digital environment. She works in the field of vocal improvisation, sound poetry, abstract electronics, avant-garde, noise and experimental.
Anna Makay first debuted with her joint project with Márton Csernovszky called ooo & MA'AM, which has become an integral part of the Hungarian experimental scene. MA'AM's solo album, Murmur was released by EXILES at the end of 2018. MA’IWA, her duo project with AIWA (Lajos Nádházi) was selected by Shape Platform in ‘20. MA’AM works on theatre and dance performances as well, she composed the sounds of Blackheads with Hungarian contemporary dancer, Viktor Szeri. She created Meghíztam a sötétben, mondjuk nem with Lili Raubinek (theatre and dance performer) for the OFF-Biennále Budapest. MA’AM performed at the Berliner Input Impro at CHB, at the Budapest/Cologne Summer LAB, at UH Fest in Budapest and also at Kolorádó festival. She works together with artists of the Hungarian experimental and improvisational music scene. She managed Ableton workshops at LAB/ON in Cologne, she has been teaching the usage of the software since then. She’s also a co-founder of AZVLM, a creative collective with the aim to support young artists. Besides a lot of different umbrella activities, She produces a radio show as well at Lahmacun radio.

is a collaboration between a Hungarian electronic musicians AIWA & me. The result is conceptual brainstorming of two experimenting minds in spoken word, dream noise, and various electronic genres – with many synthesizers.
AZVLM // co-founder
is a creative collative formed by 4 Hungarian woman. The collective (formed in 2018), is experimenter, border tensioner and also we varied art projects with each other. We became known for our parties involving projects. Our specialty is there programs embedded in concepts that create opportunity joint presentation of different projects, collaborations and current topics to bypass.
DŰLŐ // curator & technician
is a podcast series starting in 2021, the aim of which is to get the common denominator of the representatives of different subcultures. We invite guests came from different styles and at the end of each show they find a song they both love.
Autonómia Alapítvány // volunteer coordinator & financial assistant
was established in 1990 to promote civil society development. It supports civil initiatives in which people mobilize the available local resources to reach their goals. We partner with Roma and non-Roma civil organizations in our development and grant giving activities among marginalized people. Besides direct development work we do training and research, and as we do not have our own resources now, we facilitate the efficiency of government and European programs targeting the improvement of labor market conditions of Roma and poor.
